Charles Brown returns to SS&A to lead the civil engineering and land surveying team

(April 21, 2025) – SS&A Design Collective (SS&A) is excited to announce that Charles Brown, P.E., P.L.S., has rejoined SS&A as senior associate and director of civil engineering and land surveying.

Charles has more than three decades of civil engineering and site planning experience with 16 years of experience with federal projects, including new construction, site adaptation, and major renovations. His project experience includes AT/FP, site access, parking, domestic and fire water mains, sanitary sewers, site drainage and layout, transportation roadways, construction phasing, environmental permitting, erosion and sediment control, runway/taxiway, downtown revitalization, residential/commercial subdivisions, and railroad design.

Charles is also a registered land surveyor (since 2000) in the State of Alabama with 25 years of surveying experience including field to finish land surveying services for topographic, utility, boundary, as-built, construction stakeout, and ALTA surveys.

Select projects that Charles has been engaged with include: U.S. Naval Hospital Replacement, Guam; the award-winning Holloman AFB Replacement Clinic; Ambulatory Care Center, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego; New Reception Center and Processing Center, Fort Moore (Fort Benning), Georgia; Revitalization of Naval Medical Research Unit South (NAMRU-S), Lima, Peru; Ambulatory Care Center and Dental Clinic Replacement, Naval Station Guantanamo Bay Cuba.

Charles has been a licensed engineer in Alabama since 1995 and is also registered in Georgia, Hawaii, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Auburn University.
