Travis Krimmel Named to BD+C’s 2026 40 Under 40

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — SS&A Design Collective is proud to announce that Travis Krimmel, AIA, has been named one of Building Design+Construction’s 2026 40 Under 40. The national recognition celebrates rising professionals across the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry for their leadership, innovation, and impact.

Each year, the editors of Building Design+Construction recognize 40 architects, engineers, contractors, and developers under age 40. Honorees stand out for their career achievements, service to the profession, and involvement in their communities. SS&A nominated Travis for the 2026 class, and we are thrilled to see his work recognized on a national stage.

Travis joined SS&A in 2019 and serves as an Associate-level Architect. He has led Department of Defense, healthcare, and commercial projects. Colleagues and clients know him for keeping design teams, owners, contractors, and end users aligned from concept to completion. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Auburn University and is a Guiding Principles Compliance Professional.

Travis was instrumental in developing PATH, SS&A’s architectural peer mentorship group. PATH meets monthly to support the firm’s emerging architects as they grow in their careers.

His commitment extends to the wider design community. Travis served as the 2023 President of the AIA Montgomery Chapter.

With 13 years in the Alabama Army National Guard, Travis has held key leadership positions across multiple deployments. He brings that mission-oriented perspective to every project he touches, especially the Department of Defense work at the heart of SS&A’s federal practice.

Please join us in congratulating Travis on this well-deserved honor. Read his full profile in the September/October 2026 issue of Building Design+Construction.
