Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, California

The design of this two-story Clinic concentrates on maximizing energy efficiency in its architectural, mechanical and electrical design.  Energy conscious features used in the project - including lower than required wall, roof and window thermal characteristics, solar powered and LED exterior lighting and high efficiency mechanical equipment – contribute to an overall energy cost savings of 18%.  The use of low-flow, high efficiency plumbing fixtures results in a 32% reduction of indoor potable water usage, while the landscaping design’s focus on native vegetation (xeriscaping) eliminates the need for an irrigation system.  The project is registered with the Green Building Certification Institute and has completed the design review phase of the LEED® Certification process.
