W. J. CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
Project Size and Construction Cost
5,885 GSF and $698,500
Architectural design provided for the addition of three regular classrooms, a band room with raised ceiling and acoustically treated walls, and allowance for the future addition of two classrooms. Services included civil and site design to develop layout, grading, storm water and utility plans for the addition to the school, and corrections to the existing storm sewer system to bring the system into compliance with current codes.
The creative design for the addition of a connecting stair corridor linking the new classrooms to the existing building and accommodating a major level change due to a steeply sloping site, are among the features of this project. Color, shape and natural lighting were included in the design to enhance creativity and learning. A wheelchair lift was added at connecting corridor stairs.
