Whitley Hall Renovation,
Troy State University at Montgomery, Alabama
Troy State University at
Montgomery selected Sherlock, Smith & Adams to design renovations of the interior
of Whitley Hall, the main administrative building for the urban campus. Whitley
Hall, originally constructed as a commercial office building, was acquired by
TSUM as its growing enrollment produced the need for a consolidated space for
its administrative departments.
The goal of the renovation was to improve interdepartmental function as well as
to "clean up" the aging interiors of the otherwise attractive structure.
In addition to becoming home to administrative staff offices, the renovation brought
a small student bookstore and snack bar
into the building's ground level.
