The Alabama Air National Guard selected Sherlock, Smith & Adams to provide complete architectural, engineering and planning services for a new building to house their Medical Training and Dining Facilities at Dannelly Field. The architecture of this first building at the new campus is a contemporary nod to an Antebellum style, and establishes the design vocabulary for all future buildings in the vicinity.

The first floor houses, among other spaces, a 1,000-square-foot fitness area and a 10,000-square-foot dining facility with a full-service kitchen area to feed 300 airmen. The second floor consists of a 10,000-square-foot medical training facility and clinic, which includes all basic ancillaries, such as an exam room, treatment rooms, x-ray rooms, dental rooms, and open multi-use areas. The new building also includes a mobilization storage area for both meal preparation and medical services. The extensively landscaped site includes an ambulance garage and several military aircraft mounted in static display.
